Batteries are airplane safe and can be carried on the plane (up to 3).This is one of the best overall features of the board, but it's clear that the marketplace would rather have a larger integrated battery than small, swappable ones.

Very little maintenance compared to belt drives too, which I appreciated. I always liked the general feel of hubs and being able to just coast and ride it like a standard longboard. Hub motors, so it can be pushed when it runs out of battery (which it will).I always loved the appearance of the M1 and I still do, but it's obviously a more expensive way of doing things and is less serviceable by the end user.

It looks by and large like a normal longboard, something that is increasingly rare right now with most boards having the Boosted look (bare deck in the middle, visible parts near the wheels), or just have an enclosure that runs the full length of the deck. Stiff, clean-looking deck with all components integrated inside. So after a lot of use on this thing, where does it stand in hindsight here in 2019, over 4 years after the Kickstarter campaign? Let's do a quick pro/con: I won't get into the board's disappointing initial performance before firmware 2.3, or some of the initial promises versus the delivered product those items have been covered already in depth. Overall it has held up very well, but it was not without faults (as many of you well know). I've used it as a daily commuter into the city, a grocery getter, and a recreational vehicle. Having checked the mileage on my Inboard app today, I'm sitting at a pretty extensive 643 miles of use on the board. The Inboard M1 is officially out of stock and no longer for sale direct from Inboard, marking the end of a 4+ year saga that started with an aggressive Kickstarter campaign and ended with a whimper as Inboard exited the skateboard market and moved entirely to fleet scooters.
